Gorgeous mamas, Emily Current and Meritt Elliott, a cretative team since 1999, have dressed celebrities for red carpet, styled editorials and art directed advertising campaigns. In addition to their work as stylists, the duo is also regarded for their denim brainchild, the brand CURRENT/ELLIOTT, which launched with much fanfare in 2008.
In Spring 2012, the twosome joined an elite rank of designers when they became members of the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). Emily and Meritt exited CURRENT/ELLIOTT in late 2012. In a visual ode to their varied career, encapsulating their love affair with denim and imaginative worldview, Emily and Meritt penned A Denim Story: Inspirations From Bell-bottoms To Boyfriends, a coffee table book published by Rizzoli in Spring 2014.
In the Spring of 2015, Emily and Meritt embarked on their next chapter and greatest endeavor to date – the launch of their multi-category women’s collection, aptly named THE GREAT. BURU is over-the-moon to carry this incredible line, and so excited to share an exclusive Q&A with these two impressive mamas.
